Miss Autumn by Valentino Couture.

Unlike exquisite red carpet creations presented by Elie Saab, Valentino Couture focused on a luxurious daywear, mixing and matching a galore of of motives, prints, fabrics and inspirations. There is no leitmotif binding the collection together – we see lions and dragons as well as motives taken from the underwater world, there is orient and italian tradition, lace, embroidery, feathers and more.

Contrast is the key word that comes to my mind when experiencing latest Valentino Couture. The extravagance and maximalism walks side by side with an understated elegance dressed in finest fabrics and top quality craftsmanship.

What I like the most about recent Couture designs is the fact that they are “highly wearable” up to the point of calling them practical, utilitarian almost. Simple dresses and great coats could be easily adapted into a closet of an urban professional, elegant society lady or any other sophisticated woman who… can afford to dress in Valentino Couture.
